Join us on Saturday, April 14 for a day filled with train rides down the historic Deep Run Spur, following the namesake creek. Learn not only about the history of the railroad, but a bit of Civil War history from the area as you take a roughly 30 minute open air train ride. While the train is out, you are welcome to tour our cabooses and baggage car as well as check out displays from the Fredericksburg Volunteer Fire Company.
The museum is located in the Bowman Center industrial park, off of Routes 2 and 17 south of Fredericksburg. Enter Bowman Center using Joseph Mills Drive at the traffic light, then turn left on Main Street.
On EVERY Saturday morning from 9am to noon the Rappahannock railroad museum opens its doors to provide visitors a glimpse into railroad history step aboard are to restored cabooses or are Pennsylvania Railroad baggage car and view the artifacts and Exhibits pertaining to Railroad history weather permitting generally when it doesn't rain and the temperature is above 40 our visitors are invited 2 Take an excursion on a railroad Maintenance of Way train out of Spotsylvania Business Park and along Deep Run No reservations required.
Experience the view the trainman had from the cupola of the caboose, see the tools used by the track workers of the past and much, much more.
