BASIC INFO: “Bricks and Boards” highlights the architecture and history of Fredericksburg’s Downtown Historic District, one of the City’s three such areas. The tour meets in, begins from, and returns to historic Market Square behind the Town Hall building of the Fredericksburg Area Museum on Princess Anne Street EVERY Saturday morning, April 14 through October 6, beginning at 10 AM. The cost is $7 for adults and $4 for students. Tickets are available from the guide. Just show up and buy a ticket for this tour.
WHERE / WHAT?: This Walking Tour is offered by the Fredericksburg Area Museum and Hallowed Ground Tours and covers 8-blocks within the downtown Historic District at a slow pace. There is one small hill between Caroline and Princess Anne Streets. The “amble through the streets” will last approximately 75-minutes (1-1/4 hours), depending on the group’s questions and interests. Guides will emphasize both the history and varied architecture of the area from the late 17th Century to the present. Preservation will be a main theme.
WEATHER: Driving rain and gale force winds may force a cancellation of a tour but, in general, the Walking Tour will take place in most weather conditions including mists and light rain, so an umbrella might be necessary.
