Fredericksburg is leaning gracefully into its well earned Foodie destination status! New restaurants are popping up all over the region, adding even more options to our smorgasbord of great places to eat. These new restaurants complement the region beautifully in uniqueness and charm. Of course, they are all instagram worthy!

Mason Dixon Café- Stafford- The new South Stafford location is OPEN. Fredericksburgians love downtown Mason Dixon Cafe’s delicious southern food, iconic brunch, and laid back diner atmosphere. You will find the same great menu, full bar, focus on Virginia made products, brunch, happy hour, and of course their chicken and waffles, at the new South Stafford location (Courthouse area, off Rt1). Looking for a challenge? Try their M-D Pancake Challenge. Finish six ginormous pancakes, two eggs, and an order of bacon in under fifteen minutes, and you’ll be added to their wall of fame! Mian Noodle House- The much anticipated Mian Noodle House has opened in downtown Fredericksburg! Located at 1005 Princess Anne St., Mian Noodle House is local restauranteur Jonathan Chen’s ( UMI Japanese Cuisine Sushi ) latest space. It offers a build your own ramen bowl with fresh ingredients like curry and shoyu broths, meat, vegetable, and tofu options, and of course 3 noodle styles. “By sourcing the very best noodles, using a delicious mix of traditional spices, and grilling -- not frying -- our vegetables and proteins, we’re able to create hearty, nutritious bowls without sacrificing flavor. Billiken’s Smokehouse at The Chimneys.- One of downtown’s newest restaurants is Billiken’s Smokehouse, which is located in one of Fredericksburg’s most iconic buildings: The Chimneys. In 1975, The Chimneys was officially added to the National Register of Historic Places. Billiken’s Smokehouse specialties include: Pulled Pork Po’Boy sandwiches, The Chimney Stack, Smoked Brisket Mac And Cheese, and more.
Come help Billiken’s Smokehouse at The Chimney’s celebrate at their Grand Opening, May 19th! The event will feature a pig roast, live music, and signature dishes will be available for tasting.
Metro Diner- Located off of Rt. 3. near downtown Fredericksburg, Metro Diner offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, and some old school charm. The casual atmosphere, generous portions, and menu boasting traditional diner food make it perfect for the family, or for a laid back dinner/brunch with friends. The original Metro Diner was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, hosted by Guy Fieri, on the Food Network, in 2012.
Orleans Bistro and Grill- A taste of NOLA right in the heart of Spotsylvania! If you enjoy classic New Orleans fare, you will love Orleans Bistro and Grill. Their menu offers beignets, authentic Po Boys, jambalaya, crawfish etoufee, red beans and rice, catfish, and even alligator bites! Orleans Bistro and Grill often has live music and fun events. Gourmeltz: Gourmet Artisan Meltz - One of the area’s most beloved food trucks is now a restaurant, in Cosners Corner (Spotsylvania County)! “Gourmeltz is a Veteran & Wounded Warrior owned company that is dedicated to providing customers with the most unique, delicious, and freshest melts anywhere. We take it to the next level by melding together unconventional ingredients in perfect harmony for a match made in grilled cheese heaven. We also offer a variety of sides, kid friendly items, fried pickles, tomato basil soup, our famous quinoa bowl and more!” In addition to unique, delicious melts you’ll find a great selection of craft beers on tap, as well as spirits and hard cider.
Malawi’s Pizza- Since their opening just last year, Malawi’s Pizza has donated over a million meals to children in Malawi, Africa. They are truly serving,“Pizza with a purpose.” For every meal purchased at a Malawi’s restaurant, a nutrient-dense meal is donated to a child in need, in Malawi. Their menu goes beyond pizza to include pastas and a variety of salads. The pizzas are cooked in a stone oven, and some can be made gluten free. Fun topping options include, Thai Peanut Chicken, Malawi Capri, and Bacon Filet.
