If you’re wondering what’s new in the Fredericksburg Region, the predominant answer is: dinner.

The region has several new restaurants and others set to open later this summer. In addition to all the great eats, we have an update on a long awaited project, some business changes, and fireworks.

Let’s dive right in!

Pimenta Jamaican Restaurant – This authentic Jamaican restaurant serves lunch, dinner, and brunch and features favorites like ox tail, curry goat, coco bread, and jerk chicken. Most of their food is sourced locally, which contributes to the fresh quality of each meal.

Orofino’s has a new wood oven and we couldn’t be more excited about the delicious possibilities! We weren’t expecting it to be this pretty either.

Cuban Craving set to open in Spotsy this summer off Jefferson Davis Hwy. This popular food truck turned brick and mortar location will feature a number of dishes that were popular on the truck, such as their Cuban sandwich. Other menu items will include roasted pork served with beans and rice, a shrimp dish served with a Creole tomato sauce, and sweet plantains.

Fork and Biscuit coming to downtown! – There isn’t a lot of info yet to share, so we’ll leave you with this mouth watering image and a reminder to watch our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram for updates.

In case you missed the announcement, the Mr. Dee’s building was purchased by Mason Dixon Cafe. We are so happy to see this iconic Fredericksburg location getting revitalized after being boarded up for 5 years.  “After extensive renovations the property will be reopening (hopefully this summer), as M*D Eats, an upscale fast food joint. The menu will feature grass-fed burgers, fresh fried fish and fried chicken sandwiches as well as some hot dogs and waffle fry nachos plus gourmet milk shakes! It will be a carry-out restaurant with some seating but no servers. Apparently, it will be a complement to the Mason Dixon Café locations on Princess Anne Street and Stafford’s Hope Rd but will be markedly different.”

The Bavarian Chef is now Alpine Chef Restaurant! You can find the classics you expect, from Saurbraten to Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. Keep an eye out for seasonal favorites, such as winter wild game, and springtime spargelfest menus. We dare you to say that 3 times fast.

Spotsylvania is now home to Taste of Spice, a fine Nepalese and Indian restaurant. Menu items include but are not limited to:  LAMB Thali, samosas, sagg, marsala,  Papri Chaat, and many vegetarian options.  All You Can Eat Lunch Buffet: Saturday & Sunday -11am – 2:30pm.

Jay’s Sports Lounge opened their second location, in Stafford, off of Jefferson Davis Hwy. Jay’s offers over 60 beers (32 on draft), an impressive liquor range, and a full menu.
