March 30Fredericksburg Spring Brew Fest – – Craft brewers from all over the region will be sampling a few of their award winning beers. Get a sneak peek into what will be on tap for 2019. There will also be a select number of Virginia wineries and distilleries.Live music will take place throughout the event.

March 31University of Mary Washington Jazz Festival – Free event – The UMW Jazz festival is designed to enrich the UMW student musical experience and explore an important part of of America’s rich musical heritage and cultural diversity. Each year local, national, and international Jazz Artists are invited to perform with the University of Mary Washington Jazz Ensemble.


April 6th Spring Fever 5KPart of the Stafford Race Series – Proceeds benefit Stafford Hospital Foundation and help fund various programs and services which help us in meeting our mission “to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve.”

April 6Food Truck Rodeo – Pet friendly, Free event – The Spotsylvania Courthouse Village will be filled with food trucks as well as other food vendors with a wide selection of culinary delights. Visit local shops in the village and relax listing to music and various live performances throughout the day!

April 6Imbibe Fredericksburg at The Fredericksburg Filed House – Imbibe is a touring craft beer and arts festival boasting more than 100 tasty libations, and showing some special love for our local and regional breweries. By incorporating the performing, visual, and culinary arts, we aim to demonstrate the unique bond between these interests and the craft beer industry in an environment offering fun, education, and a heckuva great time. Each festival features a Game Zone for Grown Folks, an Open Air Food Market, an Artisan Market, our one-of-a-kind Craft Soda Garden, a main stage chock full of great music from nationally-touring musicians, and an industry fave, our BrewU Craft Beer Education Stage.

April 6 & 7  12th Annual Fredericksburg Spring Arts & Crafts Faire at the Fredericksburg Expo Center- Vendors will display their handcrafted artwork, pottery, bath products, jewelry, woodwork, gourmet foods, and so much more.

April 13th Dog Easter Egg Hunt – Come dressed to enter the doggie costume contest to compete for prizes!! Bring your dogs and come join the fun at our annual Dog Easter Egg Hunt. Registration of $5 allows up to two dogs to join in the fun! Dogs must be at least 12 weeks old. A small dog area will also be available for dogs under 15lbs. Pre-registration requested.

April 13 – 29th – Annual Fredericksburg Multicultural Fair – Free Event –  Festivities to include multicultural entertainment, children’s activities, ethnic craft vendors, international and American food, and lot more. Hours: 10am-5pm 

April 28thGari Melchers Home and Studio at Belmont Spring Open House – Free event- Tour the house, studio and galleries of the famous American painter Gari Melchers (1860-1932). Stroll the restored gardens and woodland trails, visit the Fannie Roots House on the property to hear about the latest restoration efforts, join a Preschool Palette class in the kitchen classroom and explore the museum shop.


May 5Great Train Race – This year marks the 25th anniversary of the largest timed youth race on the East Coast. The Great Train Race is a 1-mile run through the streets of Downtown Fredericksburg for ages 6 – 18.  The George Dashington is a 1/2-mile run through the streets of Downtown Fredericksburg for ages 12 and under.  The Caboose Run is a 1/4-mile run through the streets of Downtown Fredericksburg for ages 5 and under. 2019 marks the second year that the Great Train Race will be part of the ‘Trains, Planes and Automobiles’ Kids Race Series.

May 11th – The Embrey Mill Newland Communities Berry and Wine Festival -An afternoon of food, fun and local wine and beer from Adventure Brewing Company, Morais Vineywards, Potomac Point Vineyard and Winery, and Spencer Devon Brewing. Snacks and treats provided by Westmoreland Berry Farm, Funnel Cake Cafe, LLC and The UFO Truck!

May 186th Annual Lake Anna Brew Fest – The 2019 Lake Anna Brewfest is a beer tasting event being held on the beautiful shores of Lake Anna, Virginia at Lake Anna State Park. The festival will showcase four-ounce samples of craft beers from all over Virginia and the U.S., combined with amazing local food, great music and local Lake Anna vendors.

May 19The Marine Corps Historic Half – The scenic race course tours colonial sites and downtown Fredericksburg before scaling the now-famous Hospital Hill on the way to the stars-and-stripes adorned finish, and the US Marines. Along the way, runners pass significant landmarks dating back to the nation’s beginnings and notable neighborhoods that were home to America’s forefathers, including Presidents George Washington and James Monroe.


June 1 – Rock the River FXBG -Free event- Kick off summer at this annual outdoor festival! Rock the River features

  • Live Music (All Day!)
  • Gourmet Food Trucks
  •  Craft Beer Garden
  •  Kayaking & Canoeing, Running and Bicycle Races + more
  •  Many children’s activities and a skateboarding demo!

June 2Soap Box Derby at Dominion Raceway – Sign up before April 28 -The Soap Box Derby is a youth racing program which has run nationally since 1934, held in Fredericksburg since 1996. World Championship finals are held each July at Derby Downs in Akron, Ohio.

June 6-9Fredericksburg Photography Show– Free event – The much-anticipated Photo Show has been an annual event for 37 years. The show has had, at times, as many as 600+ entries by local artists.

June 15Annual Father’s Day Festival at A. Smith Bowman Distillery– Free Admission – Distillery tours on the half hour, tastings & cocktails, local beer & wine, live music from Cabin Creek, mouthwatering food, great vendors, Annual Barrel Regatta, Barrel Rolling Contest, games and more!June 29 – World Heritage Festival – Free event – You will have an array of vendors to choose from with more than 60 artists displaying everything from fine art to jewelry, ceramics to crafts, and every creative item in between. Other vendors include area nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, and local businesses. The kids zone has activities and games throughout the day.
