Both Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express (VRE) provide frequent, convenient service to The Fredericksburg Area. Both stop at the rail station at the foot of Caroline Street in downtown Fredericksburg

VRE (www.vre.org or 1-800-RIDE-VRA [1-800-743-3872]) serves The Fredericksburg Area from the downtown station in Old Town Fredericksburg, as well as the Leland Road and Brook stations in Stafford County. VRE serves communities in Northern Virginia, as well as Washington, DC’s Union Station.
