Lake Anna State Park is 2,304 acres with 8.5 miles of lake frontage. It has more than 13 miles of hiking trails, lakeshore picnicking, a guarded swimming beach, a children's play area, boat ramp, food concession stand, bathhouse and children's and handicapped fishing pond. On summer weekends, interpretive programs on the nature and history of the area complement exhibits and displays in the visitor center. Three shelters are avilable for rent through the Reservations office at 800-933-Park. Fees are: Parking: weekdays $3.00, weekends $4.00; Parking & Boat Launch - weekdays $7.00, weekends $8.00; Parking & Horse Trailer - weekdays $5.00, weekends $6.00; Beach Admissions: Adults (13 & up) - weekdays $3.00, weekends $4.00; children (3-12) - weekdays $2.00, weekends $3.00; Group Swimming (10 persons or more) - adult $2.50, child $1.50. MC and V.

The Massad Family YMCA offers many programs and activities for both members and visitors alike. Visitors can purchase a day pass to the YMCA for just $10 along with a photo I.D. card. YMCA members from other states or countries may use the facility at no charge as long as they present a valid YMCA I.D. card. In most cases a member of our staff will call your home based YMCA to verify that your membership is active. Out-of-town visitors or non-members may also enjoy our outdoor water park for $15 daily. Other activities include indoor tennis, aquatics, basketball, summer camps, aerobics, nature field trips, volleyball, group fitness, cardio workouts and more. The YMCA is a community resource organization aimed at improving the mind, body and spirit of all those who wish to participate. It offers affordable programs designed to benefit people of all ages and incomes. The YMCA is open seven days a week to serve you.

This 860-acre natural area including the 160-acre reservoir, is a haven for fishing, boating canoeing, hiking and picnicking. It also serves the residents of Fredericksburg and parts of Spotsylvania County with drinking water. You may bring your own boat (ELECTRIC MOTORS ONLY) to launch on the lake, or fish from the banks. Fee charged for fishing and boat launching. No swimming, horseback riding, biking of any kind, or all-terrain vehicles permitted. The park has jon boats and canoes available for rental, picnic grills and tables, and over 4 miles of hiking trails.

Rappahannock Canal Walk
The old canal towpath is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The two-mile plus path starts at the parking area on Fall Hill Ave., near Normandy Ave. It runs along the old Rappahannock canal. The path ends at Princess Anne Street near Ford Street. If you're into plants and nature there are literally hundreds of different species of plants and vegetation growing along the path. In the fall the leaves are breathtaking. The spring and summer months bring peach blossoms and roses. Not only is the walk relaxing but it helps to tire out the kids. Pets are allowed but must be on leash.
