Driving Directions

America’s two major North-South highways, I-95 and U.S. Route 1, both pass directly through Stafford County, the City of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County.  Numerous other well-traveled routes, such as U.S. Route 17 and Virginia Route 3, also bisect The Fredericksburg Area.

The Fredericksburg Area is located directly between two Capitals:  Washington, DC, the Capital of the United States; and Richmond, the Capital of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  You can drive to the heart of The Fredericksburg Area from either Capital in just one hour.
