A Salute to Veterans

¨ 9:00am - 4:00 pm - Profile of Honors Documenting Project — Bring your photographs, letters, and family papers to the Fredericksburg Area Museum where staff from the Library of Virginia staff will be on-site to scan documents.
¨ 7:00pm - Exhibit Reception at Fredericksburg Area Museum in the World Aflame: A Hometown in Two World Wars gallery, RSVP requested. Please contact Denise Smith at (540) 371-3037 ext 130.
Special Trolley Shuttle will run 9:00am - 4:00pm for the day’s events. Parking available at Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal St, with free Trolley Shuttle stops every 15 minutes to Fredericksburg Museum, War Memorial and Dorothy Hart. Washington Heritage Museums offers free admission to Veterans

In honor of Veterans Day, and to thank them for their service, Washington Heritage Museums will be offering veterans free admission to our museums on Friday, November 10. The museums include the Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop, Mary Washington House, and Rising Sun Tavern.

Profiles of Honor
The Virginia World War I and World War II Profiles of Honor Mobile Tour brings an interactive exhibit to museums, libraries, and historic sites throughout Virginia, is now open for visitors.
The Remembrance Ride will start at Dominion Raceway with 2 laps around the road course followed by a police escorted motorcycle ride from Dominion Raceway to Spotsylvania Courthouse Village. Registration is free. Contact Indian Motors Fredericksburg or Dominion Raceway for more info.

Central Rappahannock Regional Library – Main Fredericksburg Branch
The Museum of Valor presents an exhibit to commemorate the entry of the United States into World War I. Included will be a display of medical devices and equipment used in WWI. This program is part of "World War I and America", a two-year initiative of Library of America presented in partnership with The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the National World War I Museum and Memorial, and other organizations, with generous support from The National Endowment for the Humanities.
